The train is on its way to Ciudad Juarez across the border from El Paso, Texas.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection say a train filled with migrants is bound for Ciudad Juarez, the border town across from El Paso, Texas. Officials did not give an estimate on how many migrants the train might be carrying. Media outlets captured video of a FerroMex cargo train filled with migrants coming out of the Central Mexican city of Zacatecas on its way to the U.S. 750 miles away.
The number of migrant crossings in August is estimated to exceed 230,000. Nearly 65 percent are single adults, but family units have been on the increase. Cities across the nation from New York to San Diego are reporting they have reached capacity. New York City has asked the federal government for relief funds.
